I am delighted to welcome all the players, spectators and officials to our Growthpoint Inter-Provincial Tournament being held in Cape Town, our “Mother City”.
Cape Town is a port city on South Africa’s southwest coast, on a peninsula beneath the imposing Table Mountain. Slowly rotating cable cars climb to the mountain’s flat top, from which there are sweeping views of the city, the busy harbour and boats heading for Robben Island, which is now a living museum.
This is the 8th year of Growthpoint’s involvement in the Jarvis and Kaplan Cups, for which Squash SA thanks them.
We sincerely appreciate their valuable and ongoing sponsorship of this great tournament, which is unique in the world.
The Western Province, Growthpoint IPT committee under the leadership of Graham Jeffery has worked long and hard in putting this prestigious event together. We congratulate and thank them and wish them an enjoyable, and successful week.
The competition will be fierce once again and it is the responsibility of each and every player to play the matches in the spirit of the tournament, making squash the winner. It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to the Growthpoint National Interprovincial Squash Tournament in Cape Town from Sunday 07 July to Friday 12 July 2024.
We extend a warm welcome to every player, administrator and supporter over the tournament week. We also acknowledge our headline sponsor Growthpoint for their continued support and encouragement.
The competitive spirit of the Growthpoint IPT has always been to fight hard and fairly on court and follow that up with a few refreshments chatting to old and new friends off the court. We hope that this spirit continues and that you have a wonderful week with us.
A big thank you to all those unsung administrators and worker bees in the background who make things happen and allow the players to get on and have an experience that they will relish for a very long time.
